Summer of HEAT WAVES

As we embark on the last month of Northern Winter, I am sure you are all starting to daydream about some sunshine.  Here in Australia we have had a long HOT summer.

I believe our "heat waves" have even made the news over there in the USA, as a few people I have spoken to on the phone in the US, have said to me "how are you coping with the heat wave"?  The heat I can cope with (I am an island girl after all) but the lack of rain is not so much fun.  The house we built here in Australia on our return from the Caribbean is on a 1.5 acre block out in the bush.  We are not connected to "town water" so we have our own water tanks.   Now I tried to get a photo of our tanks, but I am grateful that my fetish for palm tree's has engulfed them.

I would much rather look at palm tree's that big old plastic water tanks anyway.  You can just see them in the photo above.  Perhaps a peak at my cute little stone pathway instead.

Being "boat people" we are actually quite good at using minimal water.  Somehow we got through 6 weeks without a drop of rain and still had 1/4 tank.  Installing a pool a couple of years back though uses a lot more water than we had envisioned.  The water just evaporates out of the pool.  Just disappears.

I took this photo of the pool in the late afternoon sun last week. I was thinking "how can I turn this into a print design".... and so the thoughts of the 2020 collection have started in my head.  For now though I am surviving the summer in my usual breezy cool dresses.  Click here to see the latest video of our Boho Shell Dress.

The summer heat continues here, everything is so dry.  The parrots are visiting daily for their free feed and drink of water.

One love x
